Thanksgiving Pictures

Thanksgiving was pretty good this year but I missed my cousins that weren't there. :( It was a lot shorter and I actually liked the idea of having it shorter but it was too short. Didn't seem to last long enough. The food was good as usual. The little kids talents were so cute. My Aunt Patti sang and the boys, compliments of Brian, got her old T-shirts and put them on. They were her fan club. lol. It was a had-to-be-there type of thing. Then we headed to my dad's house for thanksgiving with them. I haven't spent Thanksgiving with my dad in years (Thanksgiving was mostly spent with my mom's side). It was really nice. He actually seemed like my dad again. He hung out and talked to Rob, Rich, and I. I also got to watch football with him, which brought back good memories from me watching football with him growing up. I missed having my dad around and involved in my life. He has kinda been MIA since he got married and with my mom gone and me living so far aways from family....well needless to say, the holidays have been a little lonely. But it was really nice this Thanksgiving. I loved the time I got to spend with my family. It really helped my home sickness.

Patti Miner fan club!!

Me, Rob, and Aunt Patti. Also I have a new haircut.

My Jacket from Forever 21. It hadn't been cold enough in St. George to wear it so I was really excited that I could wear it in Orem.

Ok this is Jason breakin a little. Oh and my singing debut! yeah im THAT good! seriously! I thought I would only give you guys a little taste of The Jen. Ha!

Points to Live By

ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

TWO.
Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

THREE.
Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

FOUR.
When you say, 'I love you,' mean it.

FIVE.
When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye.

SIX.
Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

SEVEN.
Believe in love at first sight.

EIGHT.
Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much.

NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.

TEN..
In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

ELEVEN.
Don't judge people by their relatives.

TWELVE.
Talk slowly but think quickly.

THIRTEEN!
When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, 'Why do you want to know?'

FOURTEEN.
Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

FIFTEEN. Say ' God bless you' when you hear someone sneeze.

SIXTEEN.
When you lose, don't lose the lesson.

SEVENTEEN.
Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Re spect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

EIGHTEEN.
Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

NINETEEN.
When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.

TWENTY- ONE.
Spend some time alone.

Old Cell Phone Pics

So I cleaned off the pictures on my cell phone and thought it would be fun to post them. Enjoy. Remember these are all old pictures.

My niece, Dani, being cute....all these pictures are old. she is WAY bigger now. She grew up so fast.

Carrie sent me these. They were at the races. Aren't her cheeks so cubby!

Haha this one kills me!

Rob's friend, Nolan. Note that his knees are right up in the handle bars! Thats because hes like 6 foot 4 inches! Oh and also the perma-grin.

Rob's Halloween costume last year. Ha! I did his hair like Ace Ventura. I tried the year before to get him to be Ace but he wouldn't. I finally was able to convince him last year. He made the perfect Ace and everyone loved it.

Can I honestly say, "no comment" on this picture! There is so much to comment on and make fun of. lol!

Newborn Dani. This was the first time that Auntie Jen watched her.

This will always be one of my favorite pictures!

Rob's brother took this picture of him and sent it to me.

His hair was so long. I am not sure I like it that long, hopefully he keeps it at a short shag.

This was us trying to copy this Steve Nash picture that we saw. So many people call Rob Nash when he plays basketball.

Respect the Ace Ventura in full effect!

Rob kept telling me that his hair looked cool like that. I tried to tell him that it didn't. ha! He didn't listen to me. This picture was taken to show him what he REALLY looked like. It didn't work because he had that long hair parted in the middle like that for a while.

These are from the Chicago Art Institute. I forgot my camera so I took a bunch with my cell phone. This place was so cool.

I love George Serat! This picture was one that I tried to copy when I was in 6th grade.

Van Gogh

Degas. I seriously want these in my house. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them.

This was in Waukegan, IL. We just happened to see this monument to a sailor named Rob.

The Art Institute of Chicago. They not only had paintings but artifacts and stuff! It seriously was the coolest place. If you ever get to Chicago, you have to go there. Plan to spend like 3 hours or more there.

Can you tell that Rob really liked the Mid-Evil section?

Picaso

Picaso. They also had photographs, like from Ansel Adams. I always loved artsy stuff but I, myself, am not talented enough to create my own.

You know what bothers me?

I wish I had the means to help the people who are struggling, the kids. I mean in a big way. I watched this 20/20 story tonight about the youth in Camden, NJ. I was seriously bawling like a baby!

http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=3837382&page=1

Go there and watch or read the story. I would recommend watching it because you don't get the same effect reading ( you actually can see and hear the cute kids talk...tears at your heart stings).

I sit here brainstorming how I can help. I don't have much, barely getting by and at times even struggling. But I still feel so blessed to have what little I have. I feel so stupid for complaining about having only one car. I want to do something for them. Maybe I can get some people together to do something to help them (winter coats, bikes...something). Maybe what little Christmas we may end up having, we could donate instead. I honestly don't need anything more. All the clothes, home decorations, and other stuff that I dream about having seem so stupid compared to what these poor kids live without. Maybe I could sponsor a kid, help them achieve their dreams but I would want to meet them. Maybe there are kids closer to home?

This needs more thought and research. I may have only a little money to help but I am going to. I will update when I figure out what I am going to do. Also if you have ideas, let me know.

Look alikes, part II
