Logan Amuses me

I decided to do Logan's self made questionnaire because I think he is very clever and funny.

When is the last time you vomited, and what is your longest no-puke streak?

I seriously can't remember. I usually only puke one or two times and then I am done. LOL!

If you could punch one celebrity in the face with no repercussions, who would it be?

Paris Hilton...does she count as a celebrity??

Who would win in a fight and why: Michelle Obama or Richard Simmons, if Richard Simmons was sufficiently riled up and armed with a machete and three road flares?

I am going to agree on this one and pick Obama. I have a strange feeling that girl is a scrapper. wait no!! I change my mind...Richard Simmons. I think the road flares would give him that extra edge he would need. Plus hes limber and you never know what kind of damage those crazy legs can do.

What is one thing you wouldn’t confess to your parents, yet have no problem letting thousands of faceless strangers and partial acquaintances on the internet know?

My dad is too cool not to tell him things. Plus he reads this blog....so no luck on me spilling the beans. IF I did have something to share. :)

How many times have you used cell-phone issues (bad reception, no minutes, low battery, etc.) as an excuse, when in reality you just didn’t want to talk to the person?

I will admit, I am a bad cell phone person. I hate how everyone thinks that you ALWAYS have to answer your cell phone. Just because it rings doesn't mean you have to answer it. So yes, I confess, I have used that excuse. Sometimes I am anti-social.

On your way home from work you stop by the local automated car wash. After the sudsy scrub, wash, and wax phases the giant blue drying curtains pull back and you emerge, not out of the other side of the car wash, but into Disneyland. Do you: A) pause to investigate this astonishing aberration of reason and dimensional physics, or B) get in line for Space Mountain.

Play now and try to figure it out later. No sense in wasting a free trip to Disneyland.

Are you filling this out at work?

I am not at work but I am "on the clock"
I also get paid to watch movies and read books. It is a very boring job.

If yes, how much time would it actually take you to finish your average day’s work if you were allowed to go home as soon as you were done?

Not relevant because I am at home right now and I have to wait for other people to get done working before I can stop.

You find an uneaten éclair at the top of the garbage bin, virtually untouched by the filth around it. No one is around. You are hungry and it looks very good. Do you eat it?

Yeah...probably not. I don't like germs. Nursing school completely ruined the ten second rule for me.

Have you ever flipped someone off while driving?

Yes...get off my back I was having a REALLY bad day. Oh and I too have mooned people. I mean, who hasn't really.

It’s just a typical day. You get into your car to head to work. As you reach for your seat belt, you are astonished to find that, in addition to a kickin’ set of mirror dice, your car has also been fitted with a flux capacitor and a time-date coordinate computer. As you hit 88 mph you find yourself in the neighborhood you grew up in and your 12 year-old self is standing next to the car. What 2 pieces of advice do you give your 12 year-old self that could potentially change the course of your life (before taking off for 2020 to stand in line for the latest, almost-operable iPhone)?

This is a hard one....only two things. ok here they are:

1. Forgive, spend more time with family, forget about certain boyfriends, and don't be afraid to take chances (so what if it is really four things)
2. Invest in Microsoft (good idea Logan)

If you had the choice of being the top scientist in your field or having Mad Cow disease, which would you choose?

Top scientist...

Oh good, I was worried you’d pick the Mad Cow.

I thought about it long and hard.

List 2 things you know you should do but you’ve managed to convince yourself you’re too busy to do them:

1. Get a passport...I know, lame but I really need one soon.

2. Post on my blog and email people back.

What is the last all-out lie you've told?

I told someone that I wasn't hungry when really I was starving. The food they were going to give me was DISGUSTING and I am not a picky eater.

As you sit in Bahama Breeze restaurant contemplating the great truths of the universe, you suddenly realize that the coconut shrimp appetizer in front of you is actually a metaphor for your life; the way the different strands of the basket holding the shrimp weave in and out, interlocking with one another like the different friends that have come in and out of your life, how each individual shrimp represents a different period of your childhood and adolescence—some bigger, tastier, and more desirable, others harder, crustier, yet every bit as important in your growth and in making you who you are today, how the contrasting flavors of the pineapple and cocktail dipping sauces symbolize the contrasting personalities and parental styles of your mother and father, who have left distinct, indelible marks on your psyche just as the sweet, delicate taste of pineapple and the bold, robust flavor of tomato and horseradish leave distinct, lingering marks on one's tongue...then the waitress comes and snaps you out of your reverie.

Do you order the Beef Kabobs, Mahi-Mahi, or Surf and Turf?

Mahi Mahi lol

Sequoia National Park

If you haven't been to the Sequoia National Park, then you need to go. It is truly amazing! It has THE biggest trees I have ever seen.

This is Rob and I driving under a fallen Sequoia.

Just being dorks. There is this grove with a bunch of these huge trees grouped together. It really makes you feel small.

Rob trying to hug these massive trees.

(sorry these are out of order...I am too lazy to put them in order.) We saw this deer on the way down from the park. I did not zoom in on it. It was right next to the road and looking right at me!!

haha! Trying to show how tall the trees are. I am not a very good aim with the camera. After the 4th try, I decided this was the best one and gave up trying to get everyones full face in the picture.

This is the General Sherman tree. The largest tree in the world!!!

The General Sherman Tree, 272 ft (83 m) high and 37 ft (11 m) in diameter at its widest point, is the largest and one of the oldest living things in the world, estimated to be more than 3,500 years old.

I kid you not, this is a fallen BRANCH...that's right I said BRANCH...from The General Sherman tree.

Another fallen tree. This is one of the smaller ones.

Me and Carrie.

This looks like some out of proportion model with a small house and a huge tree. This is the visitor center. The tree and the building are real, note the people walking by.

Carrie and me. Not the biggest tree but still huge!

Me, Rob, and Carrie in the tree tunnel.

So there you have it, GINORMOUS TREES!

Family Fun

I love being out here with my family. It has been so awesome to get together and have weekend BBQs. Here are some pictures of the last weekend that we spent with our family.

Rob finally took the camera from me and start to take pictures. This is me and Destiny. She is attached to her Auntie Jen and I love it. hehe!

Here are some of the nephews playing Uncle Rob's Xbox.

Over here we have a game of dominoes going on.

The siblings!! Carrie, Garry, Me, and Michele. (We miss you Tammie and Jason!!)

This was supposed to be a funny picture but only two of us really got into it!

Look at her GORGEOUS hair!! Here is Shaunte, rocking the Guitar Hero III....just like her Auntie.

Ha! That would be my handsome hubby....taking a picture of himself.

Bri Bri

The Twins!! Desi and Bear. I seriously want to kidnap these two...if I were the type to kidnap cute little kids. :)

D and Rob

Carrie and I out for SUSHI!!! YUM!!

Going for a ride on Big Brother's bike.

New Hair

Heres my new hair cut. It was seriously a horrible experience getting it done. The first girl who did it totally messed it up AND she didn't cut off the pony tail so I could donate it (like I asked her to). I seriously cut off like 2 feet of hair! I wanted it longer than this but I had to go shorter to fix what the first girl did. It's ok, I guess, because my hair grows really fast. :0 ) It just makes me thankful for Tonirose (my brother, Jason's wife, who does my hair for me normally)!

My Husband Loves Me Too Much

Say hello to my new toy...

It awesome!

PB&J

I am now addicted to toasted PB&J. (Thanks Michele!) I have discovered that these wonderful sandwiches are HIGHLY misjudged. It has to be toasted though...no other way will do it. They are seriously so freakin good! I have been eating them non-stop. If you don't eat them, then you should.

That is all.

P.S. I did cut my hair but I haven't dyed it yet. Pictures will come at a later post. I know you all are so excited you can't stand it.

Quads

My brother, Garry, is awesome. Last weekend we just stopped by his house and he ended up taking us out on his banshees. It has been so great to be out here with my family for the summer.

A self-taken action shot and perma-grin.

Rob never gets any pictures of me because I am the one with the camera all the time. So this was him taking over for a while. I have no idea what I am doing here, maybe waving?

Desi

My niece, Desi, is SO FREAKIN CUTE!!! IT KILLS ME! We were playing with these soccer cones and putting them on our heads. She thought it was THE most fantastic thing in the world.

These next two pictures remind me of Big from Rob and Big. LOL! "What's wit cha boys eye..?" LOL! Sometimes she does this winking thing and other times she doesn't but when she does...its hilarious.

She was trying to hold very still so it wouldn't fall off.

Haha! my turn to put it on! I love the pure joy she gets from the simplest things. I love her TOO much and best of all she absolutely LOVES her auntie Jen. I love it!!! She screams my name whenever I show up at their house. Can get enough of my nieces and nephews!

Basketball

A while back we went to the park with my brother, Garry, and his family. We played basketball and it was dang fun. I didn't actually play in the game but i did play HORSE. So while I was watching them all play the real game, I got some action shots and here they are.

A Line

I have been really thinking about doing my hair like this but think red with blond highlights and maybe more A-lineISH. Rob doesn't want me to go short but I can't find a change that I like that allows me to keep my seriously too long hair......

It's Official!

I took my LPN state exam last saturday. This is one of those tests that adapts to how well you are doing. So what happens is...they ask a question and depending on whether you get it right or wrong is how hard the next question will be. They keep this up until they have determined if you have passed or failed. Once that is determined, the computer just shuts off. It can be anywhere from 85-200+ questions and can take up to 5 hours long! I arrived at the testing center at 730am after a long night of no sleep (I had a little test anxiety ). I had talked to a few others that I knew who took the test and expected to be there for at least 150 questions. I started and MAN the questions were HARD! You know those "select all that apply" type questions? yeah, there were TONS of those. So, Imagine my surprise when the computer shut of right after question 85. The minimum amount you can get!!! NO!!! Had I failed so horribly that I didn't get a chance to answer the easier questions? I sat there staring at the screen hoping the next question was coming, hoping that I wasn't done. I can't be done....those questions were too hard and I know this stuff. Where were the easier questions that I heard about, if you missed the hard ones?? I was sure that I failed. After 2 grueling days of waiting for the results and analyzing every possible outcome..... I found out I passed! So now I am officially a nurse. Ok, so i'm not an RN yet but I am still a LPN and only have 2 more semesters to go!! I can't tell you how excited I am. I have been waiting FOREVER to even get this far. Those of you who have been through this testing process know how good this feels.
haha.
